GENDER AND HUMAN RIGHTS, ADVOCATE Bethelehem has a Master’s Degree from the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology, on Development Studies focusing on Theology, Gender and Health. In addition, she has studied for her Masters of Science on Multidisciplinary studies from the State University of New York (SUNY). She is trained Psycho Social issues in Humanitarian settings and acquainted with the Core Humanitarian Standard. She has worked with civil society organizations in project management, implementations and in leadership positions for national and regional NGOs. On the projects she was leading, she has implemented, coordinated the full project cycle including on site evaluations and coaching stakeholders of the projects. Bethelehem has spearheaded one of the biggest projects in Ethiopia called Ethiopian Social Accountability Phase II, which was widely implemented by the World Bank’s Protection of Basic Services (PBS). She had led advocacy campaigns such as the 16 days activism against Gender Based violence using the country’s media and engagements with government and CSOs working on the issue. She had also worked as a lead consultant on the research conducted to identify the potentials of ratifying the Maputo Protocol to Ethiopia’s context. She had also worked as a Gender specialist for UNICEFF’s initiative called “design and manage the Inception phase of the roadmap to realize the London Girls’ Summit Commitment to end Child marriage and FGM/C by 2025”. Bethelehem has been trained on the “Gender in Leadership and Decision making” by the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction, “Women’s economic, social and cultural rights” by PWESCR, “Gender Responsive Right Based approach” by DEVCO.

PUBLIC POLICY/ PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION SPECIALIST Eden is a public policy and public administration consultant with five years of experience in being embedded in public institutions with a focus on supporting capacity building, policy and strategy development and also implementation across different sectors in Ethiopia and Rwanda.  She is currently embedded at Ministry of Health, Rwanda advising on the performance management system in the sector, and supporting the implementation of key interventions in specific priorities including reducing maternal mortality. Prior to moving to Rwanda, Eden supported key public institutions including the Prime Minister’s Office and Jobs Creation Commission in developing and implementing policies, strategies and interventions on investment attraction, export promotion, and job creation sectors. Eden is passionate about improving governance in Africa and building the capacity of public institutions to improve development outcomes. She holds an MSC in international development; public policy and management from The University of Manchester.

RESEARCHER Lidya is a research officer at Alliance International Bioversity-CIAT. She is also a finance and development economist, development practitioner, gender equality advocate and a proud Rotaractor. As an Ethiopia project associate, she has worked closely with Precision Agriculture for Development (PAD) team members and other partner organizations to execute implementations of projects. She also supervised and coordinated qualitative and quantitative data collection (including farmer focus groups, interviews, surveys), data cleaning and analysis, and writing reports. She was a senior gender researcher for Includovate, worked for iDE as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, and then was promoted to Monitoring and Evaluation Manager within four years of working at iDE. She has held various roles including Economist and Planning and Evaluation Officer at Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority. She has experience in Human-Centered Design and quantitative evaluations and is passionate about gender equality. She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Planning and Management from UNESCO-IHE Institute based in Delft, Netherlands; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT  Mekdes is a strategic management advisor, leadership enthusiast and active young leader with more than a decade of experience in community service and active leadership in Ethiopia. She is now a PhD candidate in Mediation and Conflict Resolution at Euclid University. She has got her first Bachelor of Arts (BA) followed by her Master of Arts in Leading Innovation and Change from York St. John University. She is an internationally certified leadership consultant from John C. Maxwell Leadership Institute in Florida. Currently, she is granted a scholarship with United Nations Institute of Training and Research to be certified in Executive Diplomacy in Geneva, Switzerland. Mekedes is now consulting more than 12 organizations in Ethiopia. She is also a national consultant for UNWomen in coaching FDRE women executives. Mekdes is a founder and managing director of Ashagari Consultancy, a management solution firm and Ashagari charitable organization. Through her training and consultancy, she directly trained more than 130,000 people in Ethiopia.

DEVELOPMENT WORKER Meyru has diploma in Home Economics from an Agricultural College and BA in Social Science from Panjer University in India. She was serving as planning expert in the Agriculture Bureau gender affairs office. She served in a project called BESO with USAID for two years and became member of the parliament representing Afar Region. After a term of five years, she started an NGO that focused on digging out water in the region. She is now working with a Netherlands based NGO that works for advancing education among pastoralist communities.
